Confidence During Summer Months as a Bariatric Patient
Summertime is here, which means it is hot hot hot! As someone who has lived morbidly obese for most of my life, I can tell you I have spent most of my life dreading these months. The thought of wearing shorts has always given me anxiety. I have always been so self-conscious about the way I look, no matter how big or small I am. After bariatric surgery, it is hard to turn that mindset off.
As a bariatric patient, it is an amazing feeling when you hit your goals. This is a lifestyle change and we work so hard to change the way we look at food and exercise. One thing I have learned on this journeyis how important it is to have a reward system after weight loss surgery. This is a long process and I truly believe we must reward ourselves for the progress we are making.
