If you are a sweet lover, weight loss surgery might be a little tough for you. This was probably one of the hardest transitions for me as a bariatric patient. I was always one that loved desserts. If I could, I would have a dessert after every meal. Sugar is by far the worst thing you can consume after weight loss surgery, which can be really challenging if you have spent your entire life addicted to it.

The weather is finally starting to warm up and we are all starting to come out of quarantine a little more. This means some people are starting to take vacations again. If you have recently had weight loss surgery or are still within your first year after the procedure, you might be a little nervous to take a little break and go somewhere. If you are like me, you might be a creature of habit and hopefully ever since your surgery, you have been forming new healthy habits that you are starting to make into your new routine. When we go on vacation, we are obviously out of our routine.

During the winter months, it can be challenging to get the initiative to do this. It feels so much darker and it can be easy to just sit on the couch all day. Spring brings new life which gives so much fresh energy that we all need on a weight loss surgery journey.
