Herbal Balance's Carb BlockerThe Great Northern White Bean (phaseolus vulgaris) contains an inhibitor of alpha-amylase, an enzyme that promotes the breakdown of starch in the human gastrointestinal tract. Ingestion of this inhibitor ("starch-blocker"), which is present in the protein fraction of the bean, can reduce the digestion of starch in foods so that less sugars are absorbed, thus reducing available caloric content of some foods.*

Contains 90 Tablets.
Directions for adult use: Take one (1) tablet with 8 oz. of water 10 minutes before meals. Do not exceed a maximum of three (3) tablets per day.
Cautions and Warnings: Not for use by persons under the age of 18, pregnant or nursing. If you are taking a prescription drug, consult your health care practitioner prior to use. Do not exceed recommended dose. Use of "starch blockers" can result in quantities of undigested starch passing into the large intestines, where it may be broken down by gut microflora. This can result in production of gas and occasionally abdominal discomfort. If the product is taken regularly as per instructions, these symptoms generally subside after a few days, because the gut microflora adapts. If they persist, cease use of the product, and if the symptoms do not then subside within 48 hours, consult a physician, because they may be due to an unrelated cause.
